Quality Manager (Defence)

 

Location – Poole, Dorset

Job Type – Full time / Permanent

Pay – Negotiable

 

 

Red Chilli Recruitment are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to work for our well established client based in Poole, Dorset. This new role in the company will be working on their defence contracts and will be responsible for devising, establishing and maintaining the Integrated Management system (IAW AS9100 D, 14001 & 45001, along with the Customer Supplier Management system.)

 

Roles / Responsibilities -

-Review customer contractual / Purchase order requirements with regards to quality and make sure these are met

-Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers

-Control and undertaking of FAIR’s

-Set company standards for Quality as well as Health and Safety & Environmental policies

-Devise quality control documentation i.e. control plans, inspection plans and inspection sign-off documentation

-Make sure that manufacturing or production processes meet the required standards

-Product Inspection & quality sign off

-Internal auditing of IMS

-Auditing of suppliers

-Control of calibration system

-Produce & review documentation packs

-Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency

-Review & control the non-conformance process

 -Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff

-Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures

-Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports

-Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements

-Assess the effectiveness of changes made

 -Use relevant quality tools and make sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business

 -Make sure the company is working as effectively as possible.

 -Train and manage a quality team

 -Carry out toolbox talks & training for production staff with regards to quality processes & procedures

 -Working with MSA and Gauge R&R

 -Daily / weekly / monthly quality reporting upwards & downwards.

 

 

 

Skills / Experience -

 

 -2 – 5 years in a Quality Manager position.

 -Lean and 5S experience

 -A good understanding of composites

 -Experience of performing audits.

 -Previous experience of managing a team

 -Good problem-solving skills

 -Positive and professional attitude with the ability to work well independently

 -Proactive with the ability to identify process improvement and implement any changes

 -CQI Qualification (Desirable)

 -Report writing including CMM report analysis (Desirable)
